Our Story
Our History
FBC Parsons has had an authentic love for Christ since the year of 1890. The church was founded by a small group of people who felt the community needed a place to worship. Bro. Nick Duke, our founding pastor, led a group of fourteen people in constructing our first church building which also served as a school. These fourteen members worked hard on our church building, and within three years were able to have our very first worship service.
God blessed and grew our congregation, and by 1915 there was a need to expand our facilities. However, during construction our country became involved in WWI, and the cost of materials went sky high. But the membership had faith, and persevered through this uncertain time, completing our first brick building in 1917.
Since our first small-framed building in 1890, God has led FBC through several building projects: educational building, the Pastor’s home, remodeling of our Fellowship Hall, and our present sanctuary. We are grateful as we look back into our past and see the vision and passion of our membership.
Our Future
Today at FBC we are on the brink of new beginnings. We realize that God has called us to be His influence in the world and we are striving to fulfill that purpose. Our desire is to share the great story of Christ with those whom He places in our path. The purpose of everything we do here at FBC is to bring glory to God. Whether it be children, pre-teens, teens, or adults our goal is to see and experience life-change.
"by His mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope.” Eph.3:20
